MX vs. ATV is a racing video game franchise developed by THQ Digital Phoenix (formerly known as Rainbow Studios) and published by THQ that focused on off-road racing. As the name suggests, the series' main focus was on racing with motocross bikes and all-terrain vehicles, although other vehicles such as dune buggies and sport trucks were also featured in the games. There were four games in the series (Unleashed, Untamed, Reflex, and Alive), as well as a PlayStation Portable port of Unleashed called On the Edge.
On August 9, 2011, THQ announced that it would shutter THQ Digital Phoenix, as well as other game development studios, and end the MX vs. ATV franchise in a company reorganization.[1][2]
